Who is it for?
Sustainable development and procurement practitioners from a diverse range of public sector bodies, central and local government.
Following the success of last year’s event, this event will bring together for only the second time members of the highly successful EMS Regional Network (a support group for public sector users of environmental management systems) and central government’s Sustainable Procurement and Operations Practitioners Forum.
What will it be?
Different to the norm. No tired old presentations. Lots of discussion and practical assistance to each other, sharing and exchanging knowledge and good practice, networking and finding solutions to common problems - in small relaxed informal groups and within main sessions. Focusing on real situations and finding practical ways of achieving higher levels of performance. You will:
-
engage in facilitated discussions covering key themes on energy, waste, water, transport, procurement and supply chain management, environmental management, social issues, sustainability policy and governance;
-
network with leading representatives from central and local government, as well as regulators and business; and
-
be inspired with ideas, to help you to improve performance and meet your objectives for sustainable operations and procurement.
Speakers will include Tom Watson MP, Cabinet Office Minister; Lord Hunt of Kings Heath, Dept for Energy and Climate Change Minister; Solitaire Townsend of Futerra; and a key supplier to government.
There will also be an innovative and very unique session identifying barriers to sustainability communications and outcomes, and exploring potential solutions.
How much will it cost?
Nothing. The event is being organised by Kirklees Council, OGC and DWP, with support funding from Lloyds, BSI and Trillium. All you have to do is turn up and be ready to help and to learn.
Please note - Fail to attend once prior registration is complete, without providing at least one weeks notice will lead to a charge of £50 per person to cover event, catering and administration costs.
